Name:

Age:

Species:
Kokiri
Gender:
Female
Alignment:
Lawful Good
Type:
Magic
Size:
3'7''
Build:
Small, but athletic. (Climbing around trees'll do that to you.)
IQ:
115
Birth Place:
Kokiri Forest
Residence:
Kokiri Forest
Occupation:
Woodland spirit and part-time Sage
Stats:
Physical: 7
Mental: 7
Luck: 7
Physical Abilities:
Being, well, essentially a tree spirit, Saria has no problems getting around in them; she's got superb climbing skills, including jumping and balance. Her problem-solving abilities are also strong, she has a natural sense of direction, and she's pretty good at sprinting.
Learned Abilities:
Probably the most notable skill she's learned is that Saria can play the ocarina. She uses this both for pleasant song, and also for "musical magic", as it were. By infusing magic power into certain musical notes, Saria is able to craft spells out of certain songs, some of which she can even teach to others. Most notably, Saria can teleport to certain specific locations (all within the forest), and is able to telepathically communicate with others that know the correct magical song. Additionally, Saria has some limited archery skills, moderate swimming skills, and excels at psychology.
Weaknesses:
As a kokiri, Saria naturally has a life-dependent tie to the forest; while she is able to leave, she only has a limited amount of time she can stay away. The longer she's out in the wide world, the more she'll gradually fall ill and lose energy, and should she stay away too long, she'll die. Though she's able to sprint well, Saria doesn't have the best physical stamina, which prevents her from breaking into a full-on run. Her physical strength, though athletic enough for someone her size, sadly isn't much of a match when compared to most other races in the wide world.
Hobbies & Talents:
Taking walks alone, playing her ocarina, reading anything she can get her hands on
Personality:
With the wisdom of untold years under her very earthy belt, Saria is a very kind and intuitive person. She listens before she speaks, and chooses her words carefully before she says them. Saria definitely believes that rewarding good behavior is preferable to punishing bad behavior, but at the same time, she is by no means a pushover; in fact, Saria is one of the sages that locked away Ganon just a few decades ago. She has a protective instinct with regard to the forest and the other kokiri -- even those that have become skull kids. Though this leads her to be a tish wary of outsiders, she is also fascinated by them due to her unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
Likes:
Music, dancing, flowers, warm rain, masks, books and pictures from the rest of Hyrule
Dislikes:
Wildfire, deforestation, excessive waste, abusive or disrespectful behavior, the fact that she gets ill if she leaves the forest
Body Colours:
As a woodland spirit, Saria's colour scheme naturally is composed of earth tones; mostly greens and a few browns. She has a somewhat fair complexion, chin-length green hair, and blue eyes.
Appearance:
MASSIVE thanks to Deebs for TP rendition!
Clothing:
Dark green turtleneck shirt with a lighter green sleeveless shirt over it, with matching lighter green shorts. The outfit is completed with green boots and a brown belt.
History:
For most of Saria's days, life has been fairly uneventful. Her earliest memories are vague, as she's been around for so long the years blend together like days, but she still gets faint imagery if she tries; the first person she can recall seeing is the Great Deku Tree, and her fairy shortly after. From there, the newborn Kokiri was taken by her woodland siblings into the Kokiri Village, where she was given a home and began to learn from her many peers. Though she didn't go through much physical growth, Saria's mental capacity evolved quickly, giving her a greater and deeper understanding of the world around her than most of the other Kokiri and winning her the Great Deku Tree's favor. Saria got along well with the others in the village, and actually turned out to be quite popular, but despite the unending reverence from those around her, she found great comfort in the reclusiveness of the Sacred Meadow Grove. It quickly became her "secret place", where she would indulge in research about the outside world and hone her ocarina skills.
When Link was brought to live among the Kokiri, Saria quickly befriended him, despite the fact that he for some reason lacked a fairy, and continually defended him against teasing for exactly that. When it came time for Link to leave the village, rumors began to spread he had killed the Great Deku Tree, which Saria firmly fought against. Growing disenchanted with her peers, Saria began spending more and more time in the Sacred Meadow Grove -- which allowed her an early glimpse of the evil that was infiltrating Hyrule. Determined not to let it spread to the forest, Saria quickly sent an ocarina message to Mido that help was needed, then entered the Forest Temple to attempt warding off the evil force. Unfortunately, Saria's magic was not strong enough to break the hold, and she remained trapped there until Link returned and allowed her to awaken as the Forest Sage. With her new powers, Saria aided Link and the other Sages in sealing away Ganon's evil.
Since that tumultuous time, Saria has slowly settled back into her reclusive ways, making a point to appreciate the simpler things in life after having nearly lost everything to Ganon. She continues to socialize with the other Kokiri, but only with about 50% of her time, using the rest for quiet reflection and, when she's up to it, venturing out into Hyrule for new information to obtain.
Anything else?
As with all Kokiri, Saria also has a fairy companion, named Lumi. I've not quite worked out the fairy's personality yet, but when I do, I'll leave a link here to the NPC app I'll write for her.
