Physical: 6
Mental: 11
Luck: 4
Physical Abilities:
He is very tall and physically able. He is spiritually in tune with the natural world and has the ability to tap into natural sources for information. He is also very intelligent about his surroundings and has a survavalist's instinct.
Learned Abilities:
Renado is the village’s healer. He knows all about where to find natural herbs and use them to effectively heal anyone of any ailment. He is also the village shaman, and keeper of information some modern denizens of Kakariko may find irrelevant, but is key to adventurers keen on the powers Hyrule possesses. He is very familiar with Hyrule's terrain and can navigate areas as vast as the desert skillfully. In dire situations, Renado is often looked at as the impromptu leader of the village, and as a result he possesses good leadership qualities.
Weaknesses:
Despite his size and apparent strength, Renado knows nothing about fighting and is easily taken advantage of when things turn to violence. Also, he is often too sympathetic for his own good and is willing to lay himself down to spare others, even if he doesn’t know them.
Hobbies & Talents:
Renado is talented with making medicinal herbs and remedies. His abilities rival that of even the doctor in Hyrule Castle Town. He also has a keen sense of perception when it comes to people and he can tell a person's personality just by looking into their eyes.
Personality:
Upon first glance, Renado seems to be a very stoic and stern person, but he immediately dispels that initial belief when you first meet him. Immediately his true personality, one of a caring and hospitable healer (and father), comes out. Renado treats all the people who visit him with kindness and respect. His door is always open to travelers. However, despite his humbleness, one can still see a gleam of something powerful within his eyes. Renado is the keeper of ancient knowledge in Kakariko, and that, coupled with his talent as a healer, makes some of what he does seem amazing to common eyes. Renado is devoted to his craft, to the extent he often seems very old-fashioned to others. He is certainly out of touch with Hyrule’s more modern customs, and as a result, often fails to understand the castle town’s barmaid Telma’s attentions toward him. Renado is a powerful ally to have, and fortunately, is an ally to most.
Likes:
Healing, being of service to others, acting as a vessel of the gods’ kindness, his daughter, Luda.
Dislikes:
The dark forces, disturbances in the natural order, thieves, and rogues.
Body Colours:
Dark brown hair, chestnut colored skin, and brown eyes.
Appearance:
Renado is very tall. Taller than most average Hylians. His robes make him seem stout, but he is actually of average build, at least for someone of his height. Renado has dark skin, light brown hair tied in dreadlocks with tan ringlets, and brown eyes. He has a long square nose, similar in shape to an eagle’s beak, and thick wide lips.
Clothing:
He wears a brown leather half-robe over a white and blue robe with ornate patterns and thin brown tassels on the sleeves. In the center of his robe there is a pattern of a crest of hyrule, though it surrounds a four-pointed star instead of the Triforce.
History:
Renado is the second in a line of Shamans in the newly formed village of Kakariko. Because of his’ father’s prominence as a healer, Renado was well liked and well treated bythe villagers. At 18, His father arranged a marriage with the daughter of another villager, Ira, which granted him his wealth and the large home which now serves as his sanctuary. Despite the arrangement, the two loved each other very much and lived very happily, but ran into difficulties when Ira was unable to conceive a child. Renado labored for years, using his medicinal skills to help Ira have a child. Eventually, after five years, Ira gave birth to Renado’s daughter, Luda, but died soon after because of complications after childbirth. Despite the kindness he always shows to his daughter, some say Renado turned inward after his loss, and from then on only related to others in a professional manner more conductive to a town doctor.
Over time, the shadow realm penetrated Hyrule, and Renado slowly became aware of his consequences. First, the Gorons, who always shared a peaceful relationship with the villagers, turned unfriendly and sealed themselves in Death Mountain. Not long after, the Shadow Beasts attacked the village, causing its citizens to flee the city leaving only Renado, Luda and Barnes behind. Then, one fateful day, Renado was searching for potion ingredients in the woods when he came across a group of children. They were captured by bulblins and taken far from their home in Ordon village, where he was once aquainted with the town's mayor, Bo. Renado took them in and watched over them, until he met the man who would come to save them: Link. Link quested to, as far as Renado knew, restore the shattered peace between the Kakariko villagers and the gorons, which Renado helped to establish along with Bo. Meanwhile, Renado helped restore the memories of the oldest child, Llia, brought to him by the barmaid Telma, while the other children explored the town and found ways to repay his kindness by helping revive deserted areas. From then Renado learned to love the spirit of the village once again and became more friendly to the outside world. Once Link returned with the item that would restore Llia’s memory, Renado knew he was an incarnation of the hero of legend, but he said nothing, knowing Link would prefer instead to go back to his ordinary life once his task was complete.
With the twilight lifted from the realm, Renado’s life has returned to status-quo. He still presides over his sanctuary with his daughter by his side. Still, he can sense something is not quite right, and he anticipates seeing Link once again in regard to the disturbance that he feels.
